| The BCWipe software is intended to give you a confidence that your deleted files cannot be recovered by an intruder. BCWipe repeatedly overwrites special patterns to the files to be destroyed. BCWipe for UNIX offers several wiping schemas: U.S. DoD 5200.22M standard, German BCI/VSITR 7-pass scheme, U.S. DoE 3-pass scheme, Bruce Schneier's 7-pass scheme, Peter Gutmann's 35-pass scheme, as well as user defined schemes.
